Hemp alternative to milk launched

Braham & Murray launch Europe's first hemp non dairy alternative to milk

Healthy alternative also good for the environment

Braham & Murray, the UK's largest producer of hemp seed, launches GOOD Hemp - a deliciously creamy, lactose-free, soya-free beverage which is suitable for vegetarians and rich in Omega 3. GOOD Hemp is made from natural hemp seed which has significant benefits for the environment. Amongst other things, Hemp is highly efficient at capturing carbon - typically four times more efficient than trees.

In a first for Europe, GOOD Hemp uses seed grown on farms throughout the UK and uses the remaining byproduct of the hemp plant as thermally efficient building materials which locks embodied and operational C02 in buildings.

GOOD Hemp milk will come packaged in Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified "Tetra Slim" Tetra Pak to reflect the sustainable nature of the product. The FSC symbol ensures traceability and is a sign of environmental excellence - making sure the benefits of this new dairy free alternative is reflected in the packing in which it is delivered to the consumer.

Henry Braham, co-founder of Braham & Murray, said: "We are proud to be launching GOOD Hemp as it successfully marries health and environmental benefits into one product. We have chosen these Tetra Pak cartons for our packaging as they are the ideal format - lightweight, low carbon footprint, recyclable and reflect the environmental values of the brand and compliment the innovation of this product."

Rupert Maitland-Titterton, Director of Environment and Communications, commented: "It is wonderful to be associated with such a uniquely beneficial brand. Increasingly we will see more ground-breaking products coming to the market to meet rising demand for environmental solutions."

GOOD Hemp launches on 5th July nationwide in Waitrose and leading independent retailers at £1.79.
