Mettler Toledo Safeline has released new x-ray inspection systems offering improved detection at high production speeds on can manufacturing lines. The InspireX R50S 400 AFD and InspireX R50SB 200 can inspect cans spaced rim-to-rim, allowing contaminant detection for up to 1500 cans per minute. The systems feature reduced focal length and improved beam angles to enable faster throughput while maintaining optimal quality assurance.

The InspireX R50S 400 AFD (Adjustable Focal Distance) is an advanced single-beam solution able to detect contaminants in a wide range of can sizes. The focal distance can be automatically adjusted for each can size, optimising detection and increasing operational flexibility. The InspireX R50SB 200 split-beam x-ray system has been specially designed for smaller metal cans - typically up to 400g/14 oz in size. 

Both feature new contamination detection software that analyses products with the highest possible resolution. A detection signal that is up to four times stronger ensures more accurate detection of contaminants.
